We’ve all heard it. “Mommy, look what I can do!” Our children are begging for our attention. And it doesn’t help that we have smart phones which can keep us preoccupied. So here’s something to do with your smart phone…
Take a picture.
They say “a picture is worth a thousand words.” I think that applies to the child when you take the time to capture a picture of their moment.
My daughter had just taken a flower I tatted and added it to a headband she finger knitted. My taking a picture encouraged her a thousand times over what my words could have done. I used words too, but as soon as I mentioned I needed a picture, her face lit up.
Of course, I had to send her upstairs for my phone, but that just made her all the more excited because now Mommy had put all her attention on capturing what a great job she had done. And then she mentioned she was selling them, and so when I posted the picture on Facebook, I started taking orders. She sold five very quickly. Imagine THAT confidence boost!
And all because I took the time to take a picture.
